This and other physician assistant jobs brought to you by DocCafe.comLehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) seeks an experienced, certified Neonatal Physician Assistant to join a team of multi-disciplinary professionals as part of a full service Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Currently, our provider team includes 7 full time neonatologists, 2 per Diem Neonatologists, as well as 6 fulltime Neonatal Nurse Practitioners and one per diem NNP. NNPs work a 6 week rotating schedule; week 1 Day rotation 8 a.m. 4 p.m., weeks 2 5 rotate 12hr & 24 hour shifts, week 6 Off. Week 1 NNPs have their own service of patients to round on, weeks 2 5, NNPs cover deliveries, admissions, consults, transports and procedures along with the Attending Neonatologist. This schedule will change slightly with the opening of our new unit at Muhlenberg (see below).
LVHN has a 40-bed Level III-IV NICU at the Cedar Crest Site. We provide all neonatal services with the exception of cardiac surgery and ECMO. The network records approximately 4,500 deliveries annually; has a 10-bed LDR unit, a 10-bed perinatal unit with MFMs on site 24/7, and an 8-bed PICU. We are also proud of having 3 full time pediatric surgeons, a Pediatric Urologist, a Peds ENT specialist and Peds Anesthesia on our medical staff. Because of the growth in our pediatric service line, a new pavilion for Obstetrics and Newborn services is currently under construction on our Muhlenberg campus in Bethlehem, PA and is slated to open in July 2017. This new facility will have a 10-bed Level II NICU. The unit will be primarily covered by an in-house NNP 24/7 with a Neonatologist on backup call. The same Neonatologists and NNPs that cover the Cedar Crest will rotate through the Muhlenberg unit.
